Genesys Labs

During my freshman and sophomore years I worked at Genesys Labs which is a research lab on campus. They research areas in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The division I was in focused on magnetic resonance based wireless charging with the goal of being able to charge devices without being tethered to a wire or a pad.

The work I was involved with ended up going towards the development of DeepCharge which is an intelligent and programmable wireless charging platform.

Tools Used: SolidWorks, Soldering, Circuit Design, Oscilloscope, COMSOL, Arduino, BeagleBoard

Work Done

  • Designed control and power circuits for wireless magnetic resonance charging

  • Coordinated with PhD students to construct and troubleshoot systems for object sensing and tracking using resonance

  • Analyzed coil design with COMSOL to minimize electromagnetic interference
